Skills and Expertise

Streaming Experience

After a year of co-hosting the weekly Black Desert Mobile stream, I have learned to stay connected with chat participants while maintaining a high energy and operate without a script. Having a high level of game knowledge regarding the topics discussed also helped me adapt to topics brought up by chat or address any questions they may have had during the stream.

I was also part of a yearly in-house games convention called Heidel Ball, where I commentated on live performances and coordinated with a larger production team, including making any last minute changes to English-related text that arose during intermission.

Voice Direction

As the lead editor and scriptwriter, I was sent to Marc Graue studios on two occasions (one week each) to assist in directing the voice actors for Black Desert Mobile. I would provide suggestions to the director and the voice actors, give greater context to the script, and make live adjustments to the script as needed, communicating those changes to the team at the main office.

Style Guides and Organization

I have created style guides from scratch for Black Desert Mobile. This includes establishing world lore, characterization for specific characters or groups of people in a given area, general grammar rules, and special grammar or conventions created for the game itself. This also includes creating it in a format that is a usable reference for both veteran workers and new employees. Most recently, I made a guide using One Note, meant to be a comprehensive resource for LQA (Language Quality Assurance) within the game.

Project Manager

As a senior member of the English team, I have been responsible for training 5 team members for the job. With only 2 or 3 members per team at any given time, it was important that each worker gain a comprehensive knowledge of both translation and game testing. Their success at their work is also due to an atmosphere that makes them comfortable with presenting ideas and communicating well as a team, fostering creativity and leading to a quick turnaround for projects.
